For the second successive season Rhyno had been promoted after finishing fourth in Division Three the previous season. The pivotal and most important season in Rhyno’s history was also the worst in terms of results. Five key players who scored over 55 goals between them the previous season did not turn out for Rhyno at all this season, namely Nick Norgate (Moved to Reading), Mark Nash (Moved to USA), Paul Saunders (Re-Joined Marquis), Ryan Hughes (Absent through work commitments) and Gary Nash (Missed season with injury.) and their presence was badly missed, not only because of their qualities, but also in terms of numbers. Many times during this season, emergency signings were drafted in at the last minute, but to give credit to Dan Thurgood, he always ensured Rhyno competed in their fixtures. Results highlights this season were a 0-0 draw with GPCA Reserves, who finished Runners-Up in the League and two more draws against a still-decent Harlow Stort side. Also worth an honorable mention is a 3-3 draw with Marquis Reserves with a badly patched-up team at Fairways in the League Cup, although the Division One side went through 6-3 After Extra Time. Towards the end of the season, some signings who Dan had seldom been able to play previously due to other commitments played more and more games and the future looked bright, despite the disappointing overall season. Final League position was 7th.
